____

My career has always been about helping people get jobs. I am first and foremost an Educational Psychologist and my work has manifested in a variety of avenues: Counselor, Researcher, Faculty Member, Curriculum Designer, Training Manager, Non-profit Director, Executive Coach, and Learning & Development Leader. Whether it’s been teaching college students strategic learning behaviors so they can prepare to get a job or enabling young professionals to identify and celebrate their unique talents and contributions to their workplace. I have also helped mid-level leaders identify and overcome their self-limiting beliefs. Simply put, working at Indeed feels like coming home. Indeed’s mission of helping people get jobs aligns with my passion and purpose.

I lead a global, dedicated L&D team to the Sales and Client Success Support Teams (which include Business Operations and Support Solutions – BOSS, Client Strategy and Insights – CSI, Global Learning & Enablement – GL&E, and Global Product Solutions – GPS). Our team supports the full learning journey of our internal client groups: Onboarding, Continuing Education, role-based Leadership Development, and support for Organizational Design. We ensure these teams have all of the skills and knowledge they need to enable Sales and Client Success as they, in turn, work directly with our clients and jobseekers. I like to say we help people who help people get jobs.

Women Making an Impact

When I found out they named me among the “Women Making an Impact in Sales” by Sales Enablement Pro, the recognition shocked and humbled me. My colleague Rodney N. kindly nominated me and I’m forever grateful for that.

As an academic and Educational Psychologist, I wouldn’t have expected to be included in the inspiring group of women who won this award. I am not, however, surprised at all when I think about what my team has accomplished. I might be the face of this award but my team won this honor. They are true business partners to our sales enablement clients who design and deliver innovative learning experiences with excellence. I am proud of my team every day.

Jaimie Quote

I could share so many examples of their inspiring work. Alisha C. and Trish P. recently elevated the Executive Summaries of training program and session completion we deliver to internal clients with compelling data visualizations of training feedback and learning achievement. One that comes to mind is a program designed by team member Jackie C. Our leadership training program is cohort-based and rooted in a constructivist approach layering on social learning theory. This means that learning about how to be an effective leader doesn’t just happen by attending trainings or engaging in self-guided learning modules. It’s a program that guides rising leaders through a journey where they are asked to cultivate their leadership identities based on what resonates with their authentic approach to leadership.

Each session offers exposure to a theory or framework that supports building role-based leadership skills. Participants are then asked to develop their learning together using a shared virtual space (Google Jam Board). Here, they document self-reflections on their leadership identity based on conversations during training, as well as pre-and post-work. Becoming a leader can be a daunting career transition. We’ve found that this approach fortifies cohorts of leaders within a specific business unit by creating a supportive and impactful learning experience with peer-to-peer learning at the very center.

Professional development is my love language and as an L&D Leader, I want to make sure I’m staying on top of industry excellence. To support our continued career growth, Global Learning & Enablement offers yearly professional development resources that we can use to help stay current in the industry or gain new skills. Through Indeed, I recently had the chance to attend the Association for Talent Development conference in Orlando, FL as well as become certified in the 6 Types of Working Genius, Patrick Lencioni’s newest model.

One of my favorite professional activities is working with leaders and teams on team dynamics, so my manager Christine Y. (the best!) recently suggested I become certified in this model, which is Patrick Lencioni’s latest contribution to the industry. The model helps teams maximize their full potential and elevate their collaboration skills. I’ve loved the opportunity to apply my Working Genius certification and leverage this model with teams at Indeed. Investment in our professional development is by far my favorite perk.

Why Indeed Stands Out

Indeed is a special place and I know this because I am constantly trying to recruit all the talented people I know to come and work with us. I am genuinely grateful to work at Indeed every single day. Here I am with my friend Ryan H. who is now on the Employee Development team – he joined us a couple of months ago!

The best thing about my job is I get to work with my team and colleagues in Global Learning & Enablement. I am surrounded by really, really smart and talented people who are also lovely humans. Shout out to the Enablement L&D Team: Adrienne S., Alexa O., Alisha C., Alison B., Ashley D., Ashley W., Christine Y., Jackie C., Jill C., Katie A., and Patricia (Trish) P. I learn from them daily.

One of our team members (recently promoted to manager!) Adrienne S. shared this expression: “Great minds think differently” and, in particular, I appreciate how Indeed values cognitive diversity and the richness that comes from seeking various perspectives. Being anchored with our mission and having the opportunity to work with such talented people has quieted the noise that might exist in less focused organizations. Because of this, Indeedians are able to be innovative in our approach to work. This clarity has afforded me the opportunity to reflect on our enablement work with clients and contribute to the L&D industry. I recently wrote an article for Training Magazine on The Role of Mindset in the Workplace for the well-being issue. The article is about building a bridge between educational psychology and L&D, and how our understanding of how people learn can deepen from applying the theories of implicit theories of intelligence (growth/fixed mindset) and self-efficacy.

Why Should Someone Come Work at Indeed

I am a mission-driven person and I want to feel like what I am doing is going to help another person in some way. Fortunately for me (and for Indeed), there are many of us at Indeed who feel similarly and are motivated to do all we can to enable Indeed’s mission. Indeed’s emphasis on not only helping people get jobs but helping all people get jobs is inspiring. If you feel as compelled to apply your skills, unique worldview, and expertise as well as contribute to the ever-growing heartbeat of Indeed as we seek to enrich the lives of others through access to life-changing opportunities, this could be the place for you!
