From helping people get the right education and certification for the job to building a cool new resume maker app, our product teams in APAC work on some pretty exciting stuff. If you’re wondering what our teams work on and want some insights from the people behind the ideation and development of our products, give this blog a read!

Our APAC product teams sit in our tech offices in Singapore, Hyderabad and Tokyo. Although based in APAC, our product teams work on both local and global products. They collaborate with teams on exciting projects, solving problems for jobseekers by creating new products or refining existing ones to help people get jobs.

“Something that is really close to my heart is the work that we’re doing in India, where we’re focused on ‘new-to-internet’ jobseekers – bringing them to the mainstream to leverage technology to help them find jobs,” Abhishek Dhasmana, Product Director based in Hyderabad shares about some of the projects the team in India are working on.

In this project, the team explores a chatbot model where jobseekers can have conversational experiences and a step-by-step guide as they search for a job on Indeed.com. This includes asking questions to get to know the candidate before offering suitable jobs to them.

Abhishek speaks more about this project as well as what it’s like working in his team on our Culture Matters video below:

In addition to market-specific products, the team in India also works on global products, such as Indeed Apply.

This is where we work on improving the application process by redesigning and modernizing the application flow on the Indeed platform.

Swetha Hanuraj Kolalapudi, Senior Product Manager based in Hyderabad is part of the Indeed Apply team. She works with the team to help job seekers apply for jobs.

“It is really exciting working on Indeed Apply as a product; I get to solve challenging problems and work on a mature product that has global scale (Indeed Apply is available in 60+ countries),” she shares.

In Singapore, the teams work on helping jobseekers with the ‘education’ aspect of the job requirements.

“As people are looking for jobs, many times, they don’t quite have the education or some certification they would need. So at that moment, we are recommending places to get that certification or education,” Andrew McGlinchey, alumni and former Senior Product Director shares about one of the projects the teams in Singapore work on.

Over in Japan, Jon Clemons, Product Manager based in Tokyo discovered a gap for jobseekers in the market when he relocated from the US.

After seeing this gap, he came up with the idea to develop the Indeed Resume Maker. This app helps Japanese job seekers create their own resumes, using available templates and guidance through the app.

“Having come to Japan, when I was in college, I worked part-time jobs and I knew the resume format was different from the US. I saw that gap in the market in terms of the competing offerings out there, and there were some things I thought would be useful as well.” Jon shares.

We have numerous projects that are ongoing, and our teams continuously refine existing products as well as build new ones.
