Carmen Cruces Dosil, Remote Recruiter in Dublin

Carmen Cruces Dosil is a remote Recruiter at Indeed based in Ireland and has been with the company for two years.

I always knew that I wanted to do something in relation to helping people. Back in Spain, I studied social work and psychology, and once I moved to Ireland, I started working in a creche, and quickly got promoted to a supervisor position.

As a supervisor, I was heavily involved in the recruitment side of things, and I discovered that this was my favourite part of the job. I really enjoyed reviewing CVs, getting to know different people at the interviews and providing them with the best experience possible before joining the company.

I decided then to do my Masters in HR management to be able to jump into the HR and recruitment sector, and recently after my graduation I got my first job in recruitment.

Manifesting a Job at Indeed

I always remember walking with my friends in front of Indeed’s office in St. Stephen’s Green and saying: One day I will work here. And a few years later here we are!

Since I got into recruitment my goal was to join Indeed one day. I knew people that worked at Indeed and the feedback was really positive. I have always identified myself with the company’s core values and as a recruiter I could not identify more with the company mission: We help people get jobs.

My role is fun and it is challenging. It changes and I learn new things on a daily basis. In Talent Acquisition no day is the same.

We are constantly getting new roles, new teams to partner with, and we are always looking for ideas to improve our processes and provide candidates with the best possible experience.

We act as mediators between candidates, managers and other teams at Indeed. It is all about communication and building relationships, always finding ways to do things better and think outside the box.

I spend lots of my day talking to candidates or Hiring Managers. We have lots of interaction with other recruiters. Teamwork is key for success in our role, and I also partner with other teams and stakeholders to improve the recruitment process. At the moment, I am involved in participating in a job fair with migrant women in Ireland, which is really exciting!

What I Love about Indeed

It is hard to pick just one thing! I love my team, I love the culture, and I love that each of us as individuals are heard in the company.

But if I had to pick what I love the most from working at Indeed, it would be the perks! I would not be able to work without an Open Paid Time Off (PTO) policy! This just shows how much Indeed values its employees and how the Senior Leadership Team is looking after our well-being.

Open PTO has allowed me to fulfill my passions apart from recruitment, which is traveling and discovering new places. If Covid allows it, I hope to be back to it really soon!

Advice for Applying to Indeed

If you are interested in a career at Indeed go for it! We have lots of different roles available, and if one of them does not work out, we will definitely find the perfect role for you.

If you are interested in recruitment, my recommendation will be to get as much exposure as you can. Talk to specialists in the area, get advice from recruiters, get trained and be ready for the adventure.

I think that as a recruiter or a person that wants to get in the sector, you need to be very people focused, empathic, a problem solver, good at communication and always, always be ready to think outside the box and come up with new ideas.

I still have the same passion for my job as the first day that I started looking at CVs in a creche, helping people to get their ideal job and being there by their side while they made such important decisions. It is what really makes me happy!
