From an employer product user to a job seeker looking for better work and now an Enterprise, Client Success Manager, inside Indeed, Ellen affectionately called Miss Indeed by her colleagues – many of whom were once referrals – shares her full-circle career journey.

My career started in Insurance Sales and then IT Staffing. In my staffing role, I had a great experience utilizing Indeed products to source candidates for employers. I became a job seeker myself in 2015 after I had relocated to the East Coast from Chicago for my staffing job and was actually looking to go back to Chicago. Believing in the product, I began my career search on Indeed and came across a Featured Employer ad for a Client Success Specialist in our Decentralized Franchise Accounts vertical – I applied after hearing from many Indeed employees what a great place it was to work. Eight years later, that is still my experience. I have always felt very supported to be myself, I have a wonderful work-life balance, and made many career advancements. I was even able to move back to Chicago, all while believing in our core mission of helping all people get jobs.

Leading a team of seven Senior Client Success Specialists supporting Indeed’s largest Enterprise accounts, our team’s primary responsibility is to help people find jobs by driving product adoption, analyzing clients’ source reporting, and making proactive optimization recommendations based on our findings.

We focus on building strong client relationships through personal connections and trust. As a result of our efforts, our clients prefer hiring job seekers from Indeed over any other source.

It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact we have on long-time clients when we help them to achieve a hiring goal that was somewhat lofty and know they did this because of the strategy my team implemented across Indeed and Glassdoor to push it across the finish line. There is such a sense of pride when we meet with our clients in person and they thank us for our partnership and tell us that we made their job easier or because we have helped them achieve their goals it led to their own promotion.

Indeed is a great place to work and I’m so grateful for the last eight years and look forward to many more years.
