Innovations in the Talent Attraction industry led Düsseldorf based Daniel to join Indeed; now he’s leading teams helping clients toward better, fairer, and more inclusive hiring. Learn more about his career journey from Talent Evangelist in the German market to Global Enterprise Marketing Director, and his best advice for job seekers seeking their next opportunity.

There were elements of my job I really liked at my former technology employer, but when I saw this opportunity with Indeed, it was so tempting because it had all of those elements but at a much larger scale. Plus, at the time, Indeed was completely disrupting the Talent Attraction space in Germany, and I wanted to be part of a company that was innovating and leading the way. I always think you should find a job that maximises your exposure to something you really like doing AND something you are good at. That typically creates a powerful combination and enables one to strive – this contributed to my joining Indeed.

My career at Indeed started seven years ago as the Evangelist for the German market; I’ve since had the opportunity to work with that program – now called Talent Strategy Advisors – and an array of other programs on a central and global level.

As an Enterprise Marketing Director, I currently lead teams that operate with a clear mission: not to sell but to provide insights.

We help people get jobs by empowering our clients to be more successful using Indeed, helping them find great talent, making their hiring better, fairer by creating more inclusive job ads, while reducing bias. At the same time, we are ensuring that job seekers worldwide have more opportunities and a better chance to land a job at these companies when we help employers expand their talent pools fairly and equitably.

Many see us as translators between job seekers and employers – by supporting employers through an understanding of what benefits are important to job seekers, how best to engage with talent during the recruitment process and during their time while employed. We deploy a variety of programs to engage the decision-makers of our largest customers, including how their employees can benefit from Work Wellbeing. The clients we work with around the globe employ tens of millions of people, and our work often directly affects their own work wellbeing.

My best advice for job seekers is that, just like in many of our relationships, finding the perfect, long-term fit isn’t always easy. Utilize tools like Indeed’s Company pages to research a company well before you join and trust your gut before you jump into your next gig too quickly. Remember to reflect on your previous experiences and learnings to determine what is important to you. And if you can, do not settle for less.
