Dilia’s career journey led her to meaningful content-related work at Indeed, protecting job seekers’ safety in her daily tasks by implementing systems that will ultimately improve the platform and user experiences. Learn how this Dublin-based Sr. Operations Analyst II on the Trust & Safety team finds her own meaning and purpose within Indeed’s mission to help people get jobs.

In 2020, I needed a change, and it felt like the perfect time to take a chance and switch industries again. After finishing my Masters in Comparative Literature, I started my career as a content reviewer, moved on to book publishing on the production side, and eventually to merchandise production – a fun experience! When circumstances changed and it was possible to work from home, I reevaluated what I wanted for my career. I decided to move away from producing “stuff” and get back into meaningful content-related work that is kinder to our planet. The mission and the values that Indeed stands for as a company drew me in. Plus, I’d heard positive things about working at Indeed and was interested in the position itself, of course.

I help people get jobs by ensuring job seekers can safely search and apply for jobs on our platform. In my role, simply put, I sieve out the “bad eggs” of job postings.

There might be a low-quality post, or an employer discriminating against minorities or other vulnerable groups, or maybe it’s actually fraud. As a team, market analysts are imperative for our business because we protect job seekers in our day-to-day tasks by implementing systems that will ultimately improve our platform.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job and working at Indeed is seeing success stories of people who found a job through our hiring platform.

The past few years have led to uncertainty across multiple industries, and I’ve had many people in my circles looking for a career change. My best advice to job seekers is to always believe in yourself! Have trust in your career path – if you did not get that interview or the offer you were hoping for, rest assured there is something else waiting for you around the corner.

Although we have been through many ups and downs since I joined, I still believe this is a great company to work for, and our mission is more important than ever! We’re making better work possible through our impactful company-wide ESG commitments. Whether it’s projects as simple as litter picking or bigger events such as Refugee Hiring and FutureWorks that allow us to make a difference outside the office and within our local communities.

Being part of a business that has made its mission to “Help people get jobs” gives me the meaning and purpose we all should hope to find in our daily work if we want to make a difference.
